From messy insight to shipped product.

Katey Jones · Product Designer · Healthtech & Behaviour Change

About me

I'm a product designer specialising in healthtech and behaviour change - most recently designing tools that support neurodivergent people to build better habits and navigate daily life.

I'm an end-to-end designer at heart. I love uncovering the real behavioural insights that sit beneath the surface, not what users say, but what they actually do, and then doing the creative, challenging work of translating those into product opportunities. From research through to shipped UI, I care about the whole journey.

I thrive in startup and scale-up environments, working alongside people who are genuinely passionate about what they're building. Right now I'm particularly excited about what's emerging at the intersection of design and AI - vibe coding, Claude Code, AI-augmented research and synthesis. It's early and a little chaotic, but the potential to compress the gap between idea and implementation feels like a genuinely new creative frontier for designers.

In practice I work across the full stack of design: interviewing users, co-producing with clinical and community stakeholders, leading teams, and building design systems from scratch through to deploying product UI myself.

Outside of work I'm somewhere between being tortured by my three-year-old, obsessing over Strava, and helping my husband build a timber frame house. It keeps things interesting.

What I’ll bring to the team:

  • Sustainable continuous discovery habits that enable teams to learn quickly, prioritise confidently, and design with clarity.

  • Actionable design strategies that bridge user insight and business goals to guide more meaningful product and service decisions.

  • Facilitation of design thinking to help teams uncover insight, generate ideas, and create user-centred solutions with clarity and purpose.

  • Coaching and support for designers to develop their skills, autonomy, and strategic influence, building strong, collaborative design teams that deliver desired outcomes.

  • Refinement of design processes that improve efficiency, consistency, and communication - giving designers the clarity and structure to do their best creative work.

  • Create consistency and efficiency by giving teams a shared set of standards and components, enabling faster, higher-quality design and development at scale.

My resume

Current role:

As Product Design Lead at Brain in Hand, I managed a team to deliver evidence-based solutions for neurodivergent users. I spearheaded the product vision by creating compelling visual narratives that aligned the leadership team and commercial strategy with user needs. I built a semantic design system and established continuous discovery habits. By facilitating co-production workshops with partners like ADHD UK, I translated qualitative insights into strategic developments that doubled user engagement within 12 months. My approach balances rapid innovation with the ethical rigour required for clinical risk.
